Just have to have a rant. I have been having a mild flare affecting hands and feet for a few weeks. Managed to keep on working and made it to Easter hols and thought - great - few days rest and will be able to do nice stuff with Julian and Jimmy. Have booked a couple of days in Scarborough as I love the seaside - going tomorrow. Can things just work out right for once? No chance - massive flare - hips, knees, everything . I am so bloody angry. I can't ask for steroids or anything as I have my 2nd assessment for anti TNFs on 26 April. I wish they could have assessed me when I couldn't get down the stairs this morning. Am being angry to stop me from being upset. Julie

It's just sod's law, isn't it? Just when you think things are going your way, along comes Arthur to bring you down again. I hope you manage to enjoy your holiday in spite of it.

Oh Julie - what a bummer this b**** disease is. It wrecks plans, ruins holidays and so much more.
Hope you can manage to get away and enjoy the sea air.
Lots of love Jeanxxxxx

Ohh Julie, Arthur always has a nasty habit of acting up when it's least wanted, I hope you feel better soon, and that the break does you the world of good :) Jo. 2012 Fundraising for the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society (NRAS) http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/RoboJo

Oh Julie, I'm so sorry for you.
Hopefully the break away will be just what you need to stop that flare in it's tracks. I know it's an awful thing to say but it's good news in terms of your assessment though. The worse you are, the better your chances of getting approved for the anti-TNF's especially if you're under a PCT where funding is particularly short.
I do hope you have some respite from it for at least a few days so you can enjoy your trip.
x x Joanna

It's always the same isn't it Julie? Whenever we need it to be quiet the RA rears its ugly head! Hope you can enjoy your break in Scarborough.

Evening Julie
Sorry to hear your news, it seems so terribly unfair like you say almost too angry to get upset. I agree with Joanna thoughts and the rest away by the sea will do you the world of good.
Thinking of you.

Thank you so much for your lovely replies - they mean so much to me as my other half, poor thing, just doesn't know what to say. Ive statred on the co-codamol 30/500s and managed to get moving a bit better this afternoon. The major problem is that both hips are really painful and burning - but I have a plan B. I had forgotten that my mum bought a mobility scooter last year but has never been confident enough to use it. It's now loaded in the back of our car for tomorrow. I can't believe it's got to this but if it means I won't get left behind - I will bite the bullett and do it. Flamingo Land tomorrow and then on to Scarborough - here we come! Julie x

Aw, Julie I am so proud of you! It is very hard to do what you are doing but it will be worth it. Keep taking ALL the pain relief you need and enjoy yourself.
I had to resort to my (blue) crutches when Marie was in the big play and then when the relics came and it was very painful but worth every moment of difficulty.
Hope SO much you have a wonderful time!
Big prayers,
Amanda

i think that is a fab idea- I have a push along chair in the boot now, needing it far more than I would like really but I need it.
I am going to look for a car that can manage my power chair for my next mobility car so I can go places with the children more.
Jenni xx
